Questions we hear most

If yours isn't here, call us. Please keep medical details out of messages.

Do you take my insurance?

It depends on your plan, so we check before your first visit and tell you in writing. Many dental plans treat jaw-joint care and night guards differently from fillings and cleanings, and some medical plans pay for parts of jaw care. The How fees work page has the table.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay the fee for your visit, and you get a written estimate before any treatment. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Call us and we'll answer plainly for your plan. We would rather tell you before you come than after.

Will it hurt?

The jaw exam is gentle pressure, and you can ask us to stop at any point. Nothing in a first visit needs numbing. If a later treatment does, we explain what we use and you can ask for a break.

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Dr. Mukherjee decides, based on your teeth and your history. For a jaw visit, we take X-rays only when the exam says they will change what we do, and we tell you why first.

What is a deep cleaning?

A deep cleaning removes buildup below the gum line when the gums have started to pull away from the teeth. Dr. Mukherjee tells you why she recommends it and what it involves before you decide. If your gums need a periodontist, she says so.

Do you see children?

Our jaw-pain visits are for adults. For children's dental care, ask us for a referral to a pediatric dentist.

What counts as a dental emergency, and what do I do first?

Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop is an emergency: go to an emergency room or call 911. A knocked-out or broken tooth, or a tooth pain that can't wait, is a call to our office right away.

Do you offer sedation?

No. A first jaw visit doesn't need it. If a treatment you need calls for sedation, we refer you to a dentist who provides it and explain why.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. You can ask at scheduling or at your visit. The estimate lists the treatment, the visits it takes and the fee.

Do you speak Spanish?

Not yet. Ask us about interpreters when you call, and we'll tell you what we can arrange.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call us or send a message through the contact form. Please tell us as soon as you know, so we can offer the time to someone else.

Still have a question?

Call the front desk, or send the contact form and we'll call you back.
